In cooperation with its partners within the Fraunhofer Group for Life-Sciences, e.g. Fraunhofer ITEM, and free consultants the IME offers its clients to jointly elaborate the data necessary for the registration of chemicals under REACH and to draw up the required documents. This includes the elaboration of most efficient testing strategies: Besides the necessary experimental tests we identify and apply available data, and we use data on substances possessing similar structures (structure-activity relationships) or work with substance classes.
The strength of the Fraunhofer IME Applied Ecology Division in Schmallenberg primarily lies in the following areas (regarding their relevance for REACH):
Ecotoxicology – risk assessment for environmental organisms
Environmental fate and behaviour
Exposure scenarios under REACH
Characterization of risks
Concerning further REACH-related questions we will be glad to bring you into contact with our cooperation partners.
