DNA-Sequencing

DNA-sequencing is one of the most laborious and time consuming steps in the fast growing bio-businesses. It is required to characterise new genes and to validate the identity of your recombinant DNA. To assist you in your research efforts and to free up your valuable time we offer a complete portfolio of sequencing and related services:

  • Plasmid DNA Preparation
  • PCR-Product Purification
  • Preparation of Sequencing Reactions
  • Analysis of Sequencing Reactions

Custom Sequencing
For single samples or small sequencing projects (<48 samples). The Facility uses Applied Biosystems cycle sequencing technology, sequences are determined on an ABI PRISM® 3730 Genetic Analyzer. The investigator receives the sequence data and electropherograms by e-mail or FTP download. Please follow the links below for detailed instructions on how to place a sequencing order, template preparation, a list of the available sequencing primers and a sample sheet that has to be filled in by the user for each order.

High Throughput Sequencing
For large sequencing projects. Samples can be supplied as either purified DNA or bacterial cultures in a 96 well format. DNA from bacterial cultures is purified at IME using Beckman Biomek robots. Once the fluorescently labeled sequencing products are generated by PCR amplification, the products are separated by capillary electrophoresis on an ABI PRISM® 3730 Genetic Analyzer. The customer receives the sequence data and electropherograms by e-mail or FTP download.
