On December 1, 1959 the Fraunhofer Institute for Aerobiology was founded in Schmallenberg. Thus, Schmallenberg is one of the oldest Fraunhofer locations in Germany. On December 17 we celebrated this anniversary with external guests in our institute followed by a symposion on the next day.
