The Fraunhofer Center for Molecular Biotechnology (CMB) in Newark, Delaware, USA, is a contract research organization developing and using plant biotechnological procedures for the production of proteins. The CMB is especially experienced in transient gene expression, a technique allowing excellent protein yields within short time periods.
The Fraunhofer CMB was founded in the year 2001 by Prof. Dr. Rainer Fischer, Dr. Stefan Schillberg and Dr. Neil Emans from the Fraunhofer Institute of Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology IME to build up a channel of communication between Germany and the USA in the field of biotechnology.
